Our client is a well-established lower middle-market engineered manufacturing business with multiple locations serving diverse industry sectors across North America, from Aerospace & Defense to Industrial. The company currently provides state-of-the-art manufacturing services with highly engineered/ complex-design products and is well positioned to grow significantly through organic and acquisitive means. The production environment is custom job shop with a committed, hungry-to-learn workforce.  Your mandate will be to drive operational excellence initiatives and elevate cross-company performance while implementing a more data-driven, KPI-focused operational culture.  

We seek an executive who has helped lead M&A growth activity and who has a strong middle-market manufacturing background with a history of successfully streamlining processes and implementing best practices in a custom production setting. Experience in an electro-mechanical production environment will be helpful but we are open to broad manufacturing experience including plastics, electronics, metalworking or cleantech. High EQ and people-focused management style will be key for this executive in bringing an entrepreneurial, founder-run workforce through the transition to professional management.  

Our client is undertaking an exciting chapter of organic and M&A-fueled growth under the direction of a private equity investor.  There will be ongoing opportunity to undertake strategic growth initiatives including the identification, assessment and acquisition of add-on businesses as opportunities arise.

The environment is highly entrepreneurial and “roll up your sleeves”, and requires a transformative, process-oriented operations leader to come in and lead the charge for the commercial/business development function through sales, engineering, production and supply chain management. This is an opportunity to apply operational vision that will have a deep and lasting impact as the company moves forward. The Chief Operating Officer will be a critical member of the executive team within the company joined at the hip with the CEO and Board.

The role offers an intriguing compensation package which includes a competitive base salary and bonus, with equity participation in the enterprise.
